It's not every day you get to see a moon this spectacular. I wasn't about to pass up the chance.
Making the long drive from Orem to the Bonneville Salt Flats with a couple of friends, we took a little walk around, snapped some shots of the surrounding beauty, and then managed to be surprised and enchanted by the sudden appearance of a huge, dark moon.
We were lucky, truthfully. We only had about a five-minute window in which to capture the moon at all. We saw it just as it was cresting the horizon line, and right before it went behind the cloud cover that had been looming all day. And of course, photos couldn't actually capture the sheer size and scope of it -- but I hope I managed to capture a little of the beauty.

Proposal at Gloria's
In just a couple of weeks, I have the honor of being a bridesmaid for a very dear friend. A few months ago, I got to witness the actual proposal. Through a variety of sneaky conspiracies on various sides, I went to Gloria's restaurant in Provo and was quickly and quietly seated at a tiny table tucked in a corner with a perfect view of the soon-to-be-engaged couple. I did my best to crouch into insignificance and hide my face behind a hat and a book, tucking my camera into my lap so it could be whipped out at a moment's notice. When he got down on one knee, I abandoned all pretense, jumped up, and started clicking.
It's really such a fun thing to be able to share in moments like this. Candlelight, romantic serenades (the accordion player was singing "Bella Notte"), and a fantastic couple. Romantic sighs all around.

Candids of Evan
Boy: n A noise with dirt on it.
I'm visiting a dear friend of mine for a couple of weeks in Northern California. She's got two cute boys and I think they're awesome. But boy, can they get filthy faster than anything! :-) Evan, the older of the two, spent some mighty fun outside-time playing in the dirt, drawing with chalk, and then topping it all off with some water balloon tossing. I couldn't resist catching a few shots. It's the epitome of boyhood.

Apsens in the Snow
So, what to do on a snowy Saturday afternoon in February? Why, go take photos, of course!
I've taken these aspens before, particularly in autumn, but I liked them in the snow. I kind of wish I'd had a bit of sunlight to play with, but the cloudy day made for a nice even lighting.

Laie Temple
I got to spend a wonderful evening at the beautiful Laie, Hawai'i LDS temple. This quickly became one of my all-time favorite temples! The building is so beautifully white, and the grounds are awesome. I kept wishing I had a bride to take around photographing with me.

Oahu Waves
Just got back from a marvelous trip to the beautiful Hawai'ian island of Oahu. I spent an enjoyable afternoon just capturing the amazing blue waters and crashing waves of the North Shore beaches. It's amazing how blue this water really is. No Photoshop required. ;-)
