The wonderful couple whose wedding I shot in Oakland also had a lovely reception at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake. Good times were had by all!

Wedding in Oakland
For the second year in a row, I have managed to find myself lucky enough to be in Northern California in August shooting a wedding. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins!

Bright Wedding
Everyone always loves sunny days, but of course the photographer prays for anything but. Still, if you beat the light into submission, sometimes it can yield some fun things.

Wedding Monochrome
There's always something so classic about a good monochrome shot. I'm picky about them, but when they work, I really like them. These were my favorite selections from a recent wedding.

Wedding Vows
One of the most beautiful parts of a wedding for me is the moment a couple vows to love each other, and they say the "I do's." It's the best part of the ceremony for me, and the reason I love ceremonies so much.

Most Interesting Wedding
At the very end of April, I had the chance to shoot an amazing wedding. This beautiful couple included traditions from their Asian cultures to create a fantastic wedding experience that was unique for this photographer -- and unbelievably fun!
The bride wore three different outfits throughout the course of the day, each one more richly detailed than the last. It made for a neat day.
Now I need to find more weddings like this to shoot! :-)

New Year's Bride
So, typical me -- I get all involved, and then I forget to sign in and update my blog. I think as a New Year's Resolution I should try and be on here more often. (Can you start a New Year's Resolution in February? Let's pretend.)
I got to end 2011 with a beautiful wedding. They went Victorian! The bride's gown was amazing, and the groom looked totally dashing. What a way to end the old year and ring in the new!

Winter Wedding
The best Saturdays are those I get to spend with brides on their wedding day.
This couple was absolutely adorable. They held their wedding at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, Utah, and then had a lovely reception closeby. (I admit, as a photographer in Utah -- where most people tend to use the church gymnasium as their venue -- it's nice to be in an actual reception hall once in a while.)
Many congratulations to this charming couple!
